Kumara Karttikeya, also known as “Murugan” and “Skanda”, is the Hindu God of War. In this form, He has been depicted with a peacock, symbolizing his mastery over ego. Murugan holds a vel (Spear), signifying his divine power and wisdom. His right hand is raised in “Abhaya Mudra”, signifying protection, and assurance to his devotees. Kartikeya’s left hand is in “Varada Mudra”, which signifies his role as the bestower of boons upon his devotees. The brass sculpture captures the youthful charm and divine aura of the deity, embodying his valor, wisdom, and benevolence.
